Description
This is a pre-war King H.N White Trombone, of a very desirable vintage. There is no model designation to it (2B, 3B, etc) and it only says Silvertone, but all of the parts are interchangeable with my early 40s 2B. According to the websites I have found, this one was made in the early 1930s, making it nearly 70 years old, if not older. It has brass stockings, as you can see in the pictures. But once they are polished up, the action is very, very fast and smooth. Minus a few dents, this will be a great slide. I have included shots of the tuning slide, which has the most denting as you would expect, and also close up shots of the stockings, in which you can see the slight wear. The bell is seven inches across, and the engraving is perfect, as you can see in the shots, and all of the little details are still there. The bell has been lacquered over, which was a common practice back then, and it has kept the engraving perfect, and it has protected the sterling bell, which has a beautiful sound. There is nothing like the sound that you get from one of these really old King Sterling bell trombones. It is very warm, but it will cut thru any ensemble when you lean on it. It will fit any King 2B slide, it fits perfectly with my 1943 liberty slide. The case is not original, but is a H.N. White case from the 50s or so. All latches work just fine and the case will do just fine for shipping and beyond that. This will be a five day listing,so all your questions to me asap. This is a fine horn, one that you might never come across again, and it will be sold without reserve, so get in there and get it!! BUYER PAYS ACTUAL SHIPPING COSTS, AND NOT THE AMOUNT THAT EBAY HAS MADE ME PUT IN. I NEVER MAKE ANY MONEY ON SHIPPING!!! Paypal will insure immediate shipping, which will be paid for by the buyer, as will insurance, but not handling or packing fees. I know that the winner will be thrilled with this one, and will get many great hours of trombone out of it.
