Description
This is one of the first Gibson Les Paul guitars made in 1952 and it does not have a serial number (see picture of back of head stock where serial number would have been). In 1954 my dad bought this guitar from the original owner who had played it a few times on the Louisiana Hayride in Shreveport. My dad and I both played it back when I was a teenager. Sometime in 1955 I scraped the "les paul" logo off of the head of the guitar (see picture). I did not like the look of it (teenagers do that kind of thing). I played it in the 60's and 70's and bought a new Peavy guitar and amp around 1980. My dad kept this guitar at his house after that and played it some, although he played the piano mostly. I brought it to my house about ten years ago, where it has been stored in it's orginal case in my upstairs bedroom where these pictures where taken and it is there now. The wiring , all knobs, pick-ups, bridge, trapezoid support, etc. are all original.
