Description
This is the Tenor of everyone's dreams.  Here is arguably the finest looking & playing, totally original condition, 5 Digit Selmer Mark VI Tenor you will ever see in your lifetime.  The serial number is 72,312, a true vintage "Mr. October" 1957 horn (per the Selmer website), when some of the the best VI's were created.  The serial number of the first Mark VI created in 1957 was 68,901 & the last Mark VI created in 1957 had the serial number 74,500.  It is 100% ORIGINAL LACQUER.  The engraving is deep & beautiful.  It also has the original pads which are in excellent condition along with the original metal domed, seamless screw backed resonators on them.  The factory lacquer overspray can be seen on the edges of the pads.  There are no dents & there has been no dentwork done to the horn at all.  The 100% original blue paint is still totally present in the neck's octave key.  If you picked up the horn & looked at it in person, you would say it was in brand new condition.    I am also including a vintage Selmer Chesterfield Tray Pak case from a few years prior with the horn.  This case as well as the clarinet case as you can see, is in like new condition.  There are no missing teeth in the zipper which works perfectly, the original handles are virtually unworn, and the entire interior purple still has that like new sheen to it with no wear.  The flute case clips are also perfect.  I feel a Tenor of this stature deserves to be kept & toted in a case befitting it.  Additionally, you will also receive the mouthpiece that came with it...a Selmer C** (that's a double star) mouthpiece complete with the Selmer ligature & Selmer Cap.  They are all in like new condition.  The original registration card, as seen in the photo, will also be included with your purchase.  Finally, the original chamois neck bag & a chamois swab will come your way as well. I had the horn to my expert repair tech to have a few of the leaks that had developed over the years fixed & this horn plays unbelievably well for still having the original pads & resonators on it.  I did not want to get it overhauled & detract from the value of this beauty in any way, shape or form should a serious collector be interested.       Domestic payment will be via Bank Check, Bank Wire or Paypal & International payment will be via Bank Wire or Paypal.  I have now reluctantly dropped the price from $24,995.00 in order to facilitate a sale.  Both the horn & case are really priceless in their superb condition. Fully Insured Shipping will be a flat fee of $150 to the lower 48.  AK, HI & International shipping will be at cost.  The horn will be professionally packed with kid gloves so it will arrive at your door in perfect condition.  I am a pro player of over 35 years, so you can feel confident about what I represent here in this Tenor.  If you are in the market for a pro alto, please see the pristine original gold plated, turn key, SML & the Gorgeous, turn key Conn Art Deco I also have for sale at this time. Enjoy the pics & Happy Holidays to everyone!
