Description
Up for bid is this stunning Conn 58B New Era trumpet in near mint condition. Manufactured between 1930 and 1938, this trumpet was completely overhauled and re-plated silver. The 18kt gold accents on the finger buttons and the inside of the bell adds an elegant touch, as well as the beautiful engravings on the outside of the bell. The case is not in the best condition, cosmetically, but it works very well. Comes with mouthpiece, special mute and lyre.    Notice the position of the third slide ring. Also note that the position of the third valve slide and the tuning slide on the third valve casing are reversed from the usual way. The 58B New Era trumpets have a 0.433" bore. These trumpets are usually referred to as "peashooter" trumpets because they are longer and more narrow than normal trumpets. Increased projection and a sparklingly brilliant tone results from this, as well as facilitation of the extreme high register. Perfect for solo work or lead trumpet playing, as the sound easily cuts through nearly any ensemble. Check out my other items!
