The Bacon & Raven firm was established in 1841. Serial numbers for this company show the numbers 5400 to 6900 for pianos built between 1850 and 1855, so given the low number it was built right about 1850. This birdseye maple and rosewood beauty, with it's original finish is absolutely beautiful. The bronze resignator is gorgeous. Old world charm steeples decorate the corners. The easel is in mint condition with very intricate carvings. The sound is amazing. This piano has some minor scratches that you would expect with age, there are some chips on the keys, and under the hood. The birdseye maple has some seperation. This piano is stands 3 ft high, and is 6' 3-1/4" wide, and is 3' 1" in depth. All together this is a beautiful piano, and piece of history. This auction does not include bench. All items sold as is.
