Case is mahogany and in excellent shape. Sound board has been checked in last month by two Steinway techs and they found no cracks. Piano was appraised by Steinway technician on August 18, 2008 for $20,000.00. The piano ahs been in family since 1927 and was refinished about 40 years ago and ivory keys were replaced with plastic. The paino needs tuning and some basic work will make for a excellent home instrument. To take it to a concert level will require restringing and new hammers..probably cost $8-10,000 but the piano will then be worth 25-35,000. I am moving and do not have room for this piano (we already have a grand piano in our new home).
