Vintage 1930 Conn 22B Engraved Trumpet - Perfect Valves Start Price USD 398.00 Current Price USD 425.00 Time Left - Bid Count 3 Buy It Now Price USD 498.00 Reserve Price - Start Time Friday, November 21, 2008 End Time Monday, December 01, 2008 Location Montreal, Canada See more about 'Vintage 1930 Conn 22B Engraved Trumpet - Perfect Valves' Description Vintage 1930 Conn 22B Engraved Trumpet - Perfect Valves You are bidding on a Vintage 1930 Conn 22B Engraved Trumpet, S.N. 272642 [758] A very clean, working example of a classic Conn trumpet.  This transitional styled instrument features the valve casing of the later Art Deco Conn horns, but has the 20's style engraving and braces.  Everything is working really well here, the valves are completely snug - I even had trouble keeping the first valve loop extended for the photos!  It kept pulling itself back under its own pressure.The horn is free of any corrosion, and the original satin silver plate is in very nice shape, with only a few minor spots of wear.  The bell does show a fine scar on the interior gold wash from having a crease rolled out, but it is in great form now, and pings nicely when flicked.  The horn is very easy to play, this is a .433" bore horn, so it is quite efficient.  Surprisingly for all vintage 22B's (in my opinion), this model is still quite dark and rich, and voices the lower notes very clearly.  Conn really knew how to design and build these horns, they are fabulous, and this one is no exception.Please check my other auctions for an interesting selection of vintage and antique horns, including a rare Boston Ne Plus Ultra cornet, Couesnon C/Bb Monopole trumpet dating to the 1940's, and a nice Academy branded trumpet (some confusion as to whether this is a Rudy Muck or not), in MINT- condition.Overseas shipping will be $118 Click below to view a film about period instruments like this, Kevin Dean - The Vintage Horn: Shipping and Payment Terms: Weekly shipping is on Wednesday evenings (please try to make payment prior).
