It has a wonderful, rich sound, and is very resonant from years of playing. I am a professional violist who has played it extensively, and would be happy to answer any questions about it. I am only selling it because I have come upon an old italian instrument, and I must sell this lovely instrument to help pay off the debt.   The cost of a new William Whedbee viola is $15,000. The cost for a one from the 1980's in good condition seems to be much higher when I see them go through various violin shops around the country.
