c. 1920s Vega Tubaphone Plectrum Banjo Start Price USD 800.00 Current Price USD 835.00 Time Left - Bid Count 3 Buy It Now Price USD 1,100.00 Reserve Price - Start Time Monday, November 17, 2008 End Time Monday, November 24, 2008 Location Waikoloa, HI See more about 'c. 1920s Vega Tubaphone Plectrum Banjo' Description This beautiful banjo was one of my father's.  It's a great player and is in beautiful shape.  It comes with a vintage Vega labelled case and a custom resonator.  The original Tubaphones did not have a resonator.  As you can see from the photos, the device that holds the resonator on does not injure the original parts.  Responding to questions:  The tuners are unlabelled.  I added a photo today, November 22, along with photos of the resonator.  The tuners are good quality planetary tuners with cream colored plastic buttons.  The banjo may have had friction pegs originally but I don't know.  My Orpheum #2 of similar vintage had friction pegs originally.  The frets are plenty tall and smooth with minor wear, mostly on the D string side between the 5th and 12th frets.  The neck is straight and there are many years of normal playing left in these frets.  I'll try to answer any additional questions over the weekend.
